These new kids on the block are really making their mark on the blossoming Oxted food scene. The brunch menu wouldn’t look out of place in a NY food joint; try the breakfast salad with seeds, kale, avo, bacon and poached egg with a sprinkling of chilli or the corn fritters with avo mash, chilli jam and a poached egg. They do a mean Bloody Mary as well!

The Betchworth Loop Betchworth
The River Mole flows through the heart of this picturesque village and there is a wonderful circular walk that winds its way along the banks all the way to Brockham. Park at St Michael’s in Betchworth, (used as a film location in Four Wedding & A Funeral) and the path leads out behind the church. And if you work up a thirst, The Grumpy Mole in Brockham is enroute and The Dolphin back in Betchworth are firm favourites.

Titsey Estate Oxted
The magnificent Titsey Place in Oxted is an impressive manor house, on the edge of the North Downs, which is open to the public, but the grounds are also not to be missed. Surrounding the house is picturesque parkland grazed by the ‘Titsey Herd’ of pedigree Sussex cattle and beyond that are 500 acres of woodland which is open to the public and has the most magnificent views of the Oxted countryside and beyond.

Fox Revived Norwood Hill near Charlwood, RH6 OET
The Fox sits proudly on the crossroads at rural Norwood Hill with stunning views to both the North Downs and South towards Gatwick. The pub was extensively revamped and re-opened in early 2017 and is now a great country pub destination. The menu is extensive and varied, especially if you fancy something other than the traditional Sunday roast. Oh and the bar has a great gin selection with over 40 on the list.

Carpenters Arms Tally Road Limpsfield Chart RH8 OTG
The Carpenters is set on the Surrey / Kent borders, in the beautiful National Trust managed Limpsfield Common. It’s a traditional inn dating back to the 1800’s which has a great copper bar, perfect for a pre-lunch drink plus restaurant and garden (a bit hopeful for this weekend!).
